A Few Gripes About “The Fail Whale”, And Thoughts On A Well Designed Twitter

It’s no doubt Twitter is on the rise. If you disagree, I’m going to start counting how many times a day I get the glorious “Fail Whale” stating, “Twitter is over capacity” I can’t stand that whale, despite it’s cute appearance and happy-go-lucky grin. If you’ve never seen it and have no clue what I’m talking about, here’s a visual:

Yes, Tweeting is part of my job here at Solid Cactus, in case you are thinking “Sarah, what are you doing over there Twittering.”

Anyway, for the most part, it’s usually a good thing to stand out from the crowd, even if it means you’re going to encounter the “Fail Whale” a few times. So, with the growing amount of Twitter users, it’s time to stand out from the rest. I stumbled on a great article, “Twitter Background Design How-To and Best Practices.” It’s really a good read for any Twitter user. It gives a quick and concise look on how to take your Twitter page from drab to fab!
