Add Some Holiday Cheer To Your SEO Content

Holiday SEO Tips

Think SEO is too long term a strategy to help boost your traffic and revenue before the holidays? Not so! Although the idea of suddenly ranking high for general terms probably won’t happen by the time Santa comes down your chimney, adding holiday themed SEO content to your site within the next two weeks can go in a long way during the holiday countdown.

First, use keyword research tools to identify holiday themed keywords. For example, if you sell party favors,  target terms such as “holiday party favors” and “Christmas party favors”. Then, write 5-10 pages of search engine optimized content to target these holiday keywords. Include the keyword a few times throughout the content, as the anchor text for links, in the title of the article, and in the meta tags for the page. Create a “Buyer’s Guide” type of section on your site so shoppers can easily find holiday gifts for under $25, gifts for her, gifts for him, etc. Be sure the content is creative and engaging, and include product photos!

One of the metrics search engines take into consideration when ranking a site is relevance - how effectively does that site reflect the term a searcher types in, and how fresh is the content on that site? Target holiday shoppers with holiday themed keywords, and get started posting that holiday “Buyer’s Guide” SEO content.
